Tom Selleck

In my opinion, Tom Selleck works harder to honor the American Cowboy than any other living actor. I have been privileged to work with him on several of his westerns and personally know his dedication to authenticity and detail.

When Tom begins a western we spend many hours discussing the proper saddles, chaps and scabbards for the time period depicted.

Everything has to fit the era. I know we accomplished our goal when the old time cowboys call and say, "He did a great job on that one." They are harder to please than any movie critic.

For over twenty five years I have been building saddles for Tom. He rides my saddles in Quigley Down Under, Ruby Jean and Joe, Last Stand at Saber River, Cross Fire Trail and Monte Walsh. Three of those saddles are in the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.

When I began thinking about this series of limited edition saddles, I discussed it with Tom and he encouraged me to do it. He offered to design one. I am proud to present the "Tom Selleck." designed by Tom Selleck and built by J. J. Croft.

The loop seat, separate front jockeys and shovel cantle reflect Tom’s interest in vintage saddles. The basket stamp and large intricate flowers make it look good enough to ride to town. My special 7/8 big dee rig that gives you a lot of forward swing. This working saddle has tapaderos and a quirt holder.

Each saddle has a large sterling silver makers plate that reads:
